Power of Persistence: Essential Ingredient to Success

Power of Persistence: Essential Ingredient to Success

“The good news – for you – is that most people in life quit. So, staying in the game is half the battle and puts you light years ahead of others.” (Robert Kiyosaki)

I took this quote for reason because this is so true…

Recently, my mentor that I respect got promoted to new executive position in our company.  I was so happy for her.

I respect her tremendously not only because she taught me many skills and knowledge necessary to become entrepreneur but also her very strong persistence…

As most knows, persistence is one of the most important ingredients when it comes to succeed in entrepreneurship

She started to do our business when she was still in college.

Plus, according to my mentor, she was extremely shy when it comes to talking to people as all of aspired entrepreneurs know that all the bottom lines come from sales and marketing… Therefore, first year in her business, she even struggled to even talk to people…

Other than that…

  • She was very young so she did not have much life experiences and staffs to show for
  • She was extremely shy and cannot talk to people
  • She did not have any practical business background
  • Her family were totally against her doing business
  • Later, she has two children to take care on top of doing her business
  • Doing business medium / long distance

I have seen so many young people (Also not so young people too) who want to achieve financial independence over this 10 year period.  Many are very fired up to achieve their goal in the beginning. But, over 90% of those people that I have seen quit because of SITUATIONS (AKA: EXCUSE)…

Somehow, many thought they will become successful or achieve financial independence relatively quick as long as they get involved with seminar, meeting or opportunity…  However, those who quit are thinking…

It is much more difficult and harder than I thought it was…

I see 3 typical categories of quitters when it comes to success…

  1. Half of the people starting out quit after few attempts because they did not see the results (Those are the people who only seek “Get-Rich-Quick”.  They will never become successful).
  2. 80% of those people will quit within a year
  3. Another 80% of those who do not quit will quit within 2 – 3 years because they don’t see significant result…

Again, my mentor started doing her business when she was student.  She was totally from wrong side of the track.  In spite of against all odds,  she became successful in her business.  Why?

Because she stayed…  She stayed in the game long enough to reap the result…

Ultimately, because she is persistent and resilient…

Moral of the story is this:

As long as you stay in the game long enough, you have great chance to win over others because

Most will quit… (Literary, no competition because most will disappear anyway…)

It is particularly true when it comes to wealth building…

My question is this…

Are you strong enough to stay in the game long enough to see the result?

If you are, you have a great chance to achieve great wealth…  If not, you might want to think again about achieving financial independence…  Choice is yours…
